La agencia indígena y el giro hacia lo global

Resumen
Este artículo explora la problemática de la agencia indígena en la antropología histórica latinoamericana, buscando articularla con los debates que plantea el llamado giro hacia lo global. La primera parte se centra en la emergencia de la agencia indígena y la reflexión sobre las formas de la conciencia histórica no occidental. La segunda aborda la reemergencia del agente imperial y su desplazamiento hacia los estudios sobre las fronteras iberoamericanas. La tercera, y última parte, identifica algunas tentativas recientes de aproximación a las circulaciones globales de personas, textos y objetos, y el desafío que presentan al tratamiento de la agencia indígena. Los estudios en esta orientación reenmarcan completamente la problemática de esta agencia, impulsando también una reconceptualización teórica de nociones como cultura y sociedad, en continuidad con debates instalados hace varias décadas por la microhistoria y ciertas versiones de la antropología sociocultural.
