Abstract
The basic problem that this article addresses are the challenges and possibilities that Web 2.0 offers historians in a globalized world: an archive that grows exponentially and chaotically, but that represents the digital memory of postmodern global society. It analyzes the concept of digital memory in relation to print culture and oral memory; the collective construction of hypertext; and the role that social networks have in the construction of what has been called the infinite archive. It also reflects on how to approach this infinite archive with historical criteria.
