Abstract

This article proposes that the experience of modernity is a baroque experience, which implies that the relationship between human beings and the world is presided over by stages of acute instability. Hence, in the first place, it characterizes the experience of the 17th century, putting it in relation to the events that ocurred in the “intellectual cosmos” as a result of the scientific revolution, and that are summed up in the affirmation of a concept of time and space as homogeneous and infinite. In the one and the same experience.
