Abstract

According to the Ministerio de Ambiente, Vivienda y Desarrollo Territorial, there are about 500 ton of obsolete pesticides in Colombia, which are located in warehouses and illegal burials in different unknown places of the country. Because of these substances can produce negative effects in human health of nearest community to the places where they are, and they constitute an environmental risk, besides the general lack of information about this situation and the public opposition to the treatment attempts inside the country, this article presents a general overview about this problem, including alternatives of solution, based in the Colombian reality.
