Abstract
This study explores the degradation of an emerging contaminant, ibuprofen (IB) in water through photocatalysis heterogeneous. For this aim, the efficiency of the degradation of this anti-inflammatory using titanium dioxide Degussa P-25 in suspension or immobilized on a glass rings, was evaluated. The effect of the amount of catalyst in suspension, tested 0, 50 and 200 mg/L TiO2 was also evaluated. The results of this study show that, the best results of 80.64% degradation of initial IB were obtained during 240 minutes with 200 mg/L TiO2 and 50 mg/L of IB.
