Privatizing care: inequality, intimacy, and drug use in the gran Buenos Aires, Argentina

Abstract

In this article I analyze the articulations between changing patterns of heterosexual couples and the consequences of neoliberal structural reforms, among drug using social networks of socially vulnerable populations. Based on the notion of health care privatization process, I analyze the rescue, as an informal politics that related to health, well being and survival, emerged from vulnerable populations affected by a deteriorating health system and criminalization to drug use.
