Abstract

The paper starts by discussing a manifesto related to the town of Itaparica, in Bahia, Brazil. Then it explores the possibilities of integrating notions such as “scientific subjectivity”, “identity” and “diversity”, with the intention of establishing plural and democratic policies regarding heritage management.
