Abstract

Based on the mobility surveys applied in Bogotá in 1995 and 2011, we compared the levels of motorization, number of trips and modal distribution in these years in the city. This comparison shows a moderate increase in the levels of car ownership and a small modal change from public transportation to private vehicles. However, a trend analysis shows that in the following two decades these changes may be more significant, threatening the sustainability of urban transportation in the city.
