Abstract
Diverse studies on philosophy of science and social history of science have been concerned about the intricate relations between social sciences development and the avatars of the political power. Some Mexican, Brazilian and Venezuelan works on this topic promoted more thoughts around the national styles of the sciences, and its role on their national foundations. This essay reviews the initial era of the Colombian anthropology and the themes that influenced later the current development of this discipline.
