El PSOE y el PS (2008-2024): ¿democratización interna supone digitalización?

Resumen
El cambio forma parte de la esencia de los partidos políticos. De un tiempo a esta parte, muchos de los cambios que están acometiendo estas organizaciones estás relacionados con la democracia interna y la digitalización de sus estructuras. Este artículo trata de relacionar ambas cuestiones en dos partidos políticos concretos: el Partido Socialista Obrero Español (PSOE) y el Partido Socialista de Portugal (PS). De esta forma, el objetivo consiste en establecer por qué y cuándo un partido introduce nuevas opciones de democracia interna y si ello ha supuesto una mayor digitalización de su estructura reglamentaria. Metodología: el artículo es una comparación de caso binario o emparejado, que sigue la estrategia de máxima similitud. Para ello, se analizan los documentos organizativos que conforman las reglas internas de ambos partidos, identificando las modificaciones relacionadas con la democracia interna y su posible digitalización. Conclusiones: se sostiene que estos partidos suelen incorporar nuevas vías de democracia interna cuando han perdido el Gobierno y se encuentran en la oposición, para tratar de recuperar apoyo y volver a acceder al Ejecutivo. Sin embargo, la profundización en la democracia interna no ha supuesto que se garantice en sus reglas la participación digital. Originalidad: se utiliza un enfoque novedoso que trata de comprobar si la democracia interna mejora la digitalización de los partidos políticos, mediante la comparación de dos partidos socialdemócratas que han tenido una trayectoria diferenciada a la de muchos de sus homólogos europeos.
