Abstract
This article explores the ways in which the dialectical relationship between power and resistance manifests itselfin specific strategies of control characteristic of global capitalism. The emergence ofnew regulatory and disciplinary mechanisms, in particular within the sphere of cultural consumption, leads to distinct forms of resistance. In consequence, the authors' explore the varied meanings ofthe concept of resistance within a globalized world order.
