Abstract
This paper gathers some results of manufacturing job location in Bogotá during the seventies and tries to analyze its continuity during 1992-2003. Calculation of birth, mortality and mobility rates are used to describe the spatial changes the city has experienced. Distant zones from the Central Business District are the new incubation areas for industrial jobs. The mobility analysis suggests that industries prefer to move to places similar to its origin place, this means, where similar conditions are offered. For the period of the study, new jobs were the result of new firms with less than 25 employees. Finally, the industrial dispersion effect that occurred between 1970-1975 was reverted.
