Abstract
“Cooperation in cultural exchange and education is also an important factor in deepening the relationship between the two countries, and I am convinced that the combination of Colombia’s rich culture and Japan’s traditions will promote mutual understanding and further strengthen their ties. The Treaty of Friendship, Commerce, and Navigation between Japan and Colombia was signed in 1908, marking the first cooperative action between the two nations. Soon after, Japanese immigrants began arriving in Colombia, and today around 2,000 people from Japan have settled in the country. Considering these factors, Colombia is emerging as an increasingly significant partner for Japan in the future.”
