The Journal
Colombia Internacional, Journal of Political Science and International Relations, aims to disseminate unpublished content (in Spanish, English, and Portuguese) that promotes national and international debate through the analysis of past and current political phenomena from disciplinary and interdisciplinary perspectives, employing relevant and innovative methodological approaches. Colombia Internacional seeks to contribute to the dissemination of new knowledge that enriches recent debates and reflections within the national and international academic community. It is a quarterly publication (January-March, April-June, July-September, October-December) released at the beginning of each period. The journal was created in 1986 and is funded by the Faculty of Social Sciences at Universidad de los Andes (Colombia).
Sections of the Journal:
Editorial: Introduces the readers to the issue, its content, importance, and justification. This section includes a "Letter to the Readers" by the Editorial Team of the Journal and a "Presentation."
Analysis: Articles centered around a specific theme, previously announced by the Editorial Team of the Journal. Monographic issues focus on a current topic in the field of Political Science and International Relations, often coordinated by a guest editor.
Open Topic: Articles on various topics (International Relations, political theory, comparative politics, Colombian politics, foreign policy, among others) that do not belong to a thematic issue.
Documents: Reproduces writings, transcriptions, photographs, or documents previously published elsewhere that are considered of interest to the readers of the Journal, especially due to their pedagogical and illustrative value. This section also provides a space for critical reflection and the exchange of viewpoints regarding current political issues, theoretical proposals, and brief research findings.
The Journal changes its section structure for open theme issues. In these cases, only the Open Theme and Documents sections are included.
Colombia Internacional is an diamond open-access* publication. The structure of the Journal follows an editorial policy that seeks to provide a space for different scientific, theoretical, empirical, and current research, facilitating the exchange of information on Political Science and International Relations with Latin America and the world. Furthermore, the Journal aims to provide inputs for analyzing, evaluating, and proposing public policies that are more in line with social realities, as well as incorporating diverse content that stimulates new research agendas.

Colombia Internacional declares that all received articles undergo a plagiarism detection tool. The contents published in the digital version are freely accessible and can be downloaded in PDF and HTML formats. Authors must declare that the text is their original work, unpublished, and that they respect the intellectual property rights of third parties. Regarding the evaluators, they must state in the evaluation form that they have no conflict of interest with the authors or topics they will provide feedback on.
