Abstract
The article analyzes the stability of the political class institutionalized in Colombian legislative elections, 2010. The central argument is that Colombia has a mixture situation, combination of old and new Congressman, while there are different segments in both Houses, according to their trajectories. Surviving old caciques and political chiefs belonging to traditional families, with new leaders of emerging sectors. There is a greater degree of renewal in the House of Representatives than the Senate. Similarly, new parties have become the vehicle of social mobility.
