The congressional elections and party consultations in 2022 reflect significant changes in the political alignments of Colombians. The growing weight of the urban electorate, the weariness of the right-wing coalition that dominated electoral politics in the first two decades of the century, and the social crisis caused by the pandemic led to an unprecedented increase in the left-wing presence in the Colombian Congress.
