Los sentidos de la piedra: Goethe y la arquitectura en tres tiempos

Resumen

Johann Wolfgang von Goethe tiene una vasta producción literaria, en la cual se encuentran tres artículos dedicados a la Arquitectura, objetos del presente ensayo: el primero elabora un discurso poético sobre la Catedral de Estrasburgo, el segundo aborda objetos de la Antigüedad clásica y el último se refiere a otra catedral gótica, situada en la ciudad de Colonia. Desde una perspectiva historiográfica y filosófica, este artículo propone comprender el significado de la Arquitectura en los tres textos goethianos en específico circunscribiéndolos, en un sentido más amplio, a la obra literaria del poeta alemán. Además, busca entender la idea de estilo gótico y otras categorías —como naturaleza, ficción y ruina— en el debate europeo a mediados del siglo XVIII.
