Abstract
The Bermúdez house, designed by Guillermo Bermúdez Umaña between 1952 and 1960 is one of the most well-known projects and architectural publications that was undertaken in Bogotá during a prolific period in the twentieth century – the fifties. This paper describes the house with the aide of published documents and endeavours to explain and make explicit why it is famous, by detailing the materials used, the areas of the house and its architectural construct.
