Abstract
Los Alcázares neighbourhood is one of the first residential areas that was developed by the Instituto de Crédito Territorial for the working class in Bogotá. The approach to the first stage of its development is the obvious result of the period of urban and architectural transition that the city and the country were passing through in the middle of the twentieth century. This case study is part of the research project The architecture of domestic space in Bogotá 1948-1972, which is aimed at understanding the development and transformation of the city’s domestic architecture through the analysis of urban, typological, and technical layouts of single family housing during this period.
