Abstract

Women have had to travel down a difficult road to become included in architecture, not only to become practicing architects, but also to receive an education in design and architecture. An important stretch of this road originated in the Avant-guard of the twentieth century. One of the most important moments was when women were allowed to become students and teachers in the emblematic Bauhaus, which was a driving force behind modern architecture. This article propounds that the history of the school and of the women who were part of it have a remarkable similarity shown in three stages of the school according to where it was located.
