Three Approaches to Deportation Architectures in Spanish Border

Abstract

The architectures linked to deportation processes in the Spanish case are analyzed through three case studies. The Foreigners Internment Centres, the police units and the forced repatriation flights are three concatenated spatialities that enable the demonstration of the kinopolitical nature of the border, as well as a progressive deterritorialization of national sovereignty. This journey through the gears of the deportation architectures allows a spatial analysis where the violence associated with them is superimposed on the materiality that builds them.
