    Es un teórico de medios alemán. Estuvo a cargo de la cátedra de Teoría de Medios: Arqueología y Variantología de los Medios en la Universidad de las Artes de Berlín, actualmente lleva la cátedra Michel Foucault de Tecnocultura y Arqueología de los Medios en la European Graduate School en Saas Fee, y es el director del Archivo-Vilém-Flusser de la Universidad de Berlín de las Artes.1 Desde el año 2016 hasta marzo de 2018, fue el sucesor de Peter Sloterdijk como rector de la Universidad de Karlsruhe de Artes y Diseño.

Abstract

The article visits the work of German media theorist Siegfried Zielinski in recent decades. The author focuses on a new field of research and teaching that Zielinski invented a few years ago, as a consequence of his projects in media archaeology, the field of prospective archaeology. The author believes this field can enrich both collecting/archiving and exhibiting as well as academic institutions that deal with techno-based art processes. It represents a constructive and tactical intervention into the exciting interrelations between past, present, and future. It can also, generate exciting new professional activities tha are interested in transversal knowledge structures and cross-disciplinary cooperation.
