Abstract
This article describes students’ perceptions about online peer assessment in an English course for teenagers. The email was used as a mean of communication and feedback during the assessment process. Twenty two students participated in the basic interpretative study for an eight week period. Throughout this time, the students wrote and assessed texts in the foreign language. Interviews, questionnaires, texts and comments written by the participants were used as data collection instruments. The results of the qualitative analysis showed that the implementation of the online peer assessment, was perceived in terms of credibility, reflection about knowledge and the role of the email as a mean of communication in the assessment process.
