Abstract
Is it possible to identify a project’s domestic space by recognising its boundaries? In order to answer this question, the paper suggests primarily reviewing the literature of several distinguished authors in phenomenology, principally Henry Maldiney, who was himself inspired by Merleau-Ponty. He gave as much importance to the body and its movement - as a way of understanding and living in a space - in his theory, as he did to dialectical pairs, where the profound importance of architecture is located. This theory, manifested by Rogelio Salmona’s apartment block project, has been converted into the theoretical substrate for an imaginary journey. The building Alto de los Pinos reflects similar strategies undertaken in other projects by the architect where the boundaries are based on the ideas of events and wandering. The concept of a building housing many families, as the reinterpretation of the idea of the house, lays the foundations to enrich many studies and proposals regarding the concept of contemporary living.
