Spatial and historical development of the urban background of the University of Boyacá´s campus, Tunja (1939-2005)

This article documents the spatial and historical development of the urban background of the University of Boyacá’s campus in Tunja. Between 1939 and 2005 the fragmented definition of the urbanisation process is analysed and the history of what took place since the establishment of the university campus is detailed. The following paper is a case study that allows for reflection on the concepts of urban history, urban actors and protagonists, urban structural analysis, morphology, and typology.
