Abstract
This article revisits the main visions of promenade architecturale through three complementary interpretations. The first interpretation refers to the history of the journey and to Western countryside. The second refers to the creation of the concept by Le Corbusier and to the way in which it is used in architecture. The third is dedicated to his collaborator Rogelio Salmona, and the way in which he interpreted this concept in accordance with his own writings and interviews as well as other authors’ interpretations. In conclusion, two different formal definitions will be presented of the same concept.
