The book La lotería de la vida: fundamentos y desafíos de la ética aplicada was written by Professor Juan Carlos Mantilla García and published by Siglo del Hombre Editores in Bogotá, Colombia, in 2024. It contains 200 pages distributed across four chapters and an epilogue. Professor Mantilla earned a PhD in Social and Human Sciences from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana (Colombia); he currently teaches the course on ethics and sustainability in the interinstitutional Doctorate in Sustainability program of the Red Mutis.

In his book, he presents a new discipline called applied ethics, which invites reflection on situations and issues of the contemporary world that are of political and economic importance...

This book is a tribute to Dr. William Denevan, authored by two distinguished disciples and collaborators. Beyond the homage, the book is a substantive contribution to the discussion of key topics in geography and the environment which, although established decades ago, remain relevant today. The title is a fitting synthesis of these themes—forests, cultivated fields, and fallow land—highlighting prominent land covers and uses, their origins, and historical evolution over hundreds of years.

Uma enciclopédia nos trópicos: memórias de um socioambientalista

This book, written by Carlos Alberto Ricardo (Beto Ricardo) in collaboration with journalist Ricardo Arnt, provides an overview of the consolidation of his commitment and activism in Brazil, based on the union between the environmental cause and the right to life of Indigenous peoples. Filled with events and numerous encounters with national and international figures, the text reveals how the existence of Indigenous peoples occupies a place in the minds of ordinary Brazilian citizens, political leaders, foreign nationals, and civil society organizations that, in different parts of the world, share the conviction that these peoples have the right to preserve their existence.
