Bienestar, autoestima y ajuste psicosocial en la infancia vulnerable: un estudio comparativo entre hogares de acogimiento residencial y centros de atención diurna

Resumen
El ajuste psicosocial es un indicador clave del desarrollo de niños, niñas y adolescentes (NNA) bajo medidas de protección. Este estudio tiene como objetivo describir el perfil psicosocial y analizar comparativamente el bienestar subjetivo, la autoestima y la sintomatología emocional y conductual entre participantes de dos programas del sistema de protección infantil en España: centros de día para la infancia y la adolescencia (programas preventivos de preservación familiar) y hogares de acogimiento residencial (para casos de desamparo o negligencia). Se evaluó a un total de 194 participantes de 11 a 18 años mediante tres instrumentos autoinformados estandarizados: el Cuestionario de Fortalezas y Dificultades (SDQ), el Índice de Bienestar Personal (PWI-7) y la Escala de Autoestima de Rosenberg (RSES). Se realizaron análisis comparativos entre programas y se exploraron asociaciones con el género y la edad. Los NNA atendidos en centros de día mostraron un perfil psicosocial más favorable, con un bienestar subjetivo significativamente superior y una tendencia a presentar menos dificultades emocionales y conductuales. Los adolescentes en acogimiento residencial presentaron mayores desafíos en las relaciones con sus iguales y una percepción menos positiva del entorno, mientras que no se observaron diferencias significativas en la autoestima. Las correlaciones indicaron que mayores dificultades se asocian con menor bienestar y autoestima, factores que se relacionan positivamente entre sí. Las mujeres mostraron mayor vulnerabilidad emocional y menor satisfacción vital, y la edad presentó un efecto modulador débil. Los hallazgos subrayan la relevancia de programas preventivos que preserven los vínculos familiares y generen experiencias positivas, así como la necesidad de mejorar la calidad del cuidado mediante intervenciones centradas en la seguridad, en relaciones estables y en una atención sensible al trauma. Este estudio destaca la importancia de incorporar una perspectiva de género para fortalecer la resiliencia y el bienestar emocional y, además, aporta evidencia comparativa novedosa sobre el ajuste psicosocial en dos modalidades del sistema de protección en España.
