No. 15 (2003-06-01)

Abstract

Far from disappearing with the end of the Cold War, wars are livelier than ever in the contemporary world. The author shows how violent confrontations have been transformed in the world, from the regular wars of the 19th century to the armed conflicts of the last decades, which include internal armed conflicts tending to internationalization, fading of the difference between combatants and civilians, etc. Later on he studies the terrorist phenomena, their relation with terror and war, to end up talking about violence in its interactions with territory.
