Abstract

Based on interviews, the present text approaches the issue of Central American migrations towards the United States. By means of testimonies of people who have walked across the desert, the jungle, and the river, and who have used cruel means of transport—such as the train from which they are pulled-off until they lose parts of their bodies—, the authors analyze the changing identity of “nomads”, who come and go with no stable starting point or destination.
