Abstract
This paper examines the relationship between the concepts of individual and collective trauma, assesses how they are evaluated, and presents some alternatives of psychosocial work within the context of full and complete reparation. The following reflections are the result of work carried out in the reparation and assistance area of the National Commission for Reparation and Recuperation. The article concludes by underlining the importance of psychosocial initiatives in areas of long-standing armed conflict and emphasizing the need to deal with the trauma of violence, which helps communities make sense of events in order to promote the healing effects of the process and reduce the psychosocial vulnerability that such events repeat themselves.
