Abstract
This article analyzes socio-labor relations in Bolivar Grande in light of the legal and political discussions which took place in the nineteenth century with regard to the field of law in which unskilled labor should be included. We show that seeking to attach unskilled labor to the field of the domestic unit was an attempt to control labor, using forms of social semi-servile labor.
