Abstract
Historiography, in the last four decades, has changed the way space is included in history as a category for analysis. Multiple scales, connections and space-temporal dynamics have emerged in the discipline that has led to questioning the Nation-state as the dominant spatiality of society. Based on the notion of regime of historicity, this article states that this change in the discipline is related to a turn in society which tends to privilege present over future in the conception and experience of time, which is, in turn, related to a critique of progress as the driving concept of society.
