Espaços públicos atrativos no envelhecimento ativo e saudável. O caso do mercado de Terán, Aguascalientes (México)

Resumo
Esta pesquisa analisa os atributos do ambiente construído e as funções do contexto social que determinam a atratividade do mercado público tradicional e favorecem o envelhecimento ativo na cidade de Aguascalientes (México). A metodologia consistiu na aplicação de um questionário a pessoas idosas e também em dados coletados de sensores ambientais no mercado de Terán. Os resultados mostraram que a atratividade do mercado tradicional com relação à interação adequada com as necessidades do idoso está determinada pela funcionalidade dos atributos do ambiente físico construído e da usabilidade das funções do contexto social. Discutem-se os possíveis benefícios que o mercado público atrativo tem na estimulação do envelhecimento ativo e saudável e, em geral, na qualidade de vida na velhice.
