A identidade social como mediadora entre as emoções e a participação em ações coletivas: pesquisa com estudantes peruanos e chilenos

Resumo

Neste artigo, é analisado, de forma comparativa, o papel mediador da identidade social na relação entre emoções (positivas e negativas) e participação em ações coletivas. A amostra foi composta de estudantes universitários do Peru (N = 599; M = 24,5 anos) e do Chile (N = 592; M = 22,2 anos). Para realizar a análise, foi utilizado um modelo de equação estrutural (SEM). Os resultados mostraram que, em ambos os países, a identidade social intermediou a relação das emoções positivas e negativas com a ação coletiva; além disso, as emoções positivas foram as que marcaram a tendência à ação coletiva dos estudantes. Concluiu-se que as emoções predizem a ação coletiva por meio da identificação com um movimento social, nesse caso, o movimento estudantil. Também foi observado que o efeito indireto da identidade social foi mais forte no caso chileno do que no caso peruano.
