Abstract
This article explores the association between contemplative practices and social skills of children between 24 and 61 months of age, throughout the implementation of an educational program for the development of socio-affective skills in early childhood education. 94 toddlers participated within a descriptive, associative and a longitudinal design which uses Merrell Preschool and Kindergarten Behavior Scale; Social Skills Scale for Parents/Caregivers of Lacunza; and a brief sociodemographic survey. Positive differences were found in the post-test for Social Interaction, Social Cooperation and Social Independence; and negative differences in Externalization and Interiorization of Behavior Problems. The findings are discussed as well as its possible contributions to early childhood education.
