Design de um curso de pensamento computacional para estudantes de artes e humanidades em uma universidade colombiana

Resumo

Estudar como se ensina e se aprende programação tornou-se cada vez mais relevante em espaços acadêmicos universitários, especialmente diante de ofertas curriculares interdisciplinares como as artes eletrônicas e as humanidades digitais. Este estudo utiliza um modelo de investigação crítico e participativo para analisar como se usam e se desenvolvem as habilidades de pensamento computacional (PC) nos estudantes de programas de Artes Humanidades e propor um curso de introdução ao PC desenhado especificamente para este contexto. Os dados analisados foram obtidos a partir de entrevistas com professores da Faculdade sobre conhecimento, desenvolvimento e uso do PC, e artefatos como testes de PC e reflexões dentro de um curso virtual de introdução ao PC. O curso incluiu conceitos de PC e foi estruturado numa transição de atividades como a codificação, decodificação e criação de poemas com algoritmos até a marcação de texto com HTML, para finalmente chegar à programação introdutória utilizando Processing em p5.js. Entre os professores da Faculdade, destacou-se a crença de que o PC se desenvolve por meio do uso de softwares de edição e gestão de dados. Os resultados do curso mostram que inicialmente os estudantes tinham um desempenho baixo em PC, mas ao longo do curso o desempenho dos estudantes nos testes melhorou significativamente. Esta pesquisa conclui que o desenvolvimento do PC na Faculdade de Artes e Humanidades de uma universidade privada colombiana pode ser fortalecido através de um curso introdutório como o proposto.
