Abstract
The article narrates a visit to a farm in Cundinamarca to study dung beetles. It describes the ecological importance of these insects, which play a crucial role in nutrient recycling and soil improvement. Dung beetles help decompose manure, which contributes to soil fertility and parasite reduction. During the visit, sustainable practices implemented at Don José's farm were observed, including proper manure management and biodiversity promotion. The interaction between dung beetles and the agricultural environment is highlighted, showing how these insects benefit both the ecosystem and agricultural activities. The article also addresses the challenges faced by farmers in the region and how collaboration with researchers can improve agricultural practices and environmental conservation. It concludes that dung beetles are essential for maintaining soil health and promoting sustainability in agriculture.
