Abstract

In this article the author explores the structural and dynamic transformations within displaced families, as well as the abilities its members develop for dealing with various adverse situations they face during this process. Based on testimonies from the people interviewed, the author searches for actions and interactions where it is evident that they are not passive actors, but individuals trying to reconstruct their lives. This was done with the purpose of motivating any attention given to this population to be rooted in their particular necessities as well as the strengths they have to face adversity.
