Processos de reconfiguração identitária em homens que são os principais cuidadores de suas filhas e filhos

Resumo

Casais em que os pais são os principais cuidadores de suas filhas e filhos e as mães são as principais provedoras econômicas do lar têm uma distribuição de papéis que transgride as normas tradicionais de gênero e questiona as identidades de homens e mulheres. Este artigo apresenta os resultados dos processos de reconfiguração identitária em homens heterossexuais de sete casais com organização familiar heterossexual. Os resultados desta pesquisa qualitativa mostraram que assumir o papel de cuidador principal de crianças tem potencial para gerar identidades mais equânimes e solidárias. Discutem-se as implicações dos resultados no desenvolvimento de iniciativas de promoção dessas identidades.
