Kōbai is an open access journal published by the Japan Center and the Faculty of Arts and Humanities of Universidad de los Andes, Colombia. Its purpose is to promote learning and reflection about Japan from the diversity of various fields of knowledge, thus strengthening the bonds between Japan and Colombia.

This cover emerges from a search for elements and objects present in both Japan and Colombia. This led to the choice of masks and a matsuri stand, as a space that gathers and celebrates the expressions, colors, materials, and forms of the faces created in each culture.
